Compliance risk score

This score is calculated on the build step from deterministic checks against the data files used by the site. It is not a legal rating, not a compliance certificate and not an AI guess.

Formula

score = round((factors_passed / factors_total_excluding_na) * 10)

Factors marked n/a are excluded from the denominator. If all factors are n/a, the block is not shown on the page.

The seven factors

  1. Verified official source - the code exists in the official release file used by the site.
  2. International crosswalk - an official international correspondence exists where relevant.
  3. Previous edition migration - a supported migration path exists to an earlier edition of the same classifier.
  4. Complete hierarchy - the parent chain is present and consistent in the generated data.
  5. Size or threshold documented - an official threshold or size rule exists for the code where relevant.
  6. Trade or export match - a confirmed trade or export nomenclature match exists where relevant.
  7. Legacy crosswalk - a supported mapping exists to a superseded national system where relevant.

What the score is not

The score does not tell you whether your business, occupation, export item or record choice is legally correct. It only measures how much supporting evidence and structural linkage is attached to the page.
