Privacy and data use

AU-Codex privacy policy

AU-Codex is a static reference site. This policy explains what information may be collected through basic site operation, search, analytics and correction requests.

What this site may collect

The static pages themselves do not require an account. Standard hosting logs may still capture IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer and timestamp in the normal course of site operation.

If analytics are enabled, aggregate usage data may be used to understand which pages are useful, which pages fail and which navigation paths need improvement.

Search and correction requests

On-site search queries may be logged in aggregate form to improve search quality and discover missing entities or unclear labels. If you submit a correction request, the information you send is used only to review and process that report.

Do not send tax file numbers, passport data, visa file numbers or other sensitive personal records through a general site contact channel.

Cookies and third-party services

If the production deployment uses analytics, performance monitoring or embedded third-party services, those tools may set cookies or similar identifiers. The exact services depend on the final hosting stack and should be reviewed before launch.

If advertising or additional tracking is added later, this policy should be updated before those services go live.

Your choices

You can limit tracking through browser privacy controls, content blockers and cookie settings where applicable. If you contact the site to request a correction, only include the information needed to identify the page and the issue.
